History

Original Praxeum

The Original Praxeum was established by Luke Skywalker in 11ABY as a place for Force Sensitives to gather and train in the ways of the Jedi. Among the inaugural class was young Republic officer Ander Tagira, who demonstrated talent and skill with the Force early on.

During the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Jedi Praxeum was destroyed by the Yuuzhan Vong attack, the ancient Great Temple flattened down to just it's bottom most levels.

Rebuilding the Jedi Praxeum

Following the conclusion of the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Jedi Order as a whole relocated to Ossus and Coruscant. However Ander, nostalgic for the old Academy, organised for funds and time to be spent on rebuilding the Great Massassi Temple, brick for brick, restoring it to the way it was prior to it's destruction. Many of the necessary basic materials lay on the site of the old Temple, with others being brought in from the site of collapsed ruins elsewhere in the region.

Once reconstruction was complete, Ander reopened the Praxeum. It quickly developed into a large and well known establishment, having a vast number of political and military allies and enemies.

The Jedi Council of Yavin IV, Approx. 46 ABY

This Jedi Praxeum of Yavin IV, also known as Ander Tagira's Jedi Academy for a while, was the second Jedi training establishment to be set up on Yavin IV after the battle of Yavin. Ander Tagira was the recognised leader and Master of the Yavin IV Jedi Order for some years, but eventually the Academy Council asked him to step down from the position of command, fearing the dark path that he was taking them down. He was succeeded by Jedi Master Tebana Sor as Master of the Order, and took instead took on a focus as the commander of the military forces of the Yavin IV Defence Force. However, despite this, he was looked to by many still as a lead figure within the Praxeum, and still handled overall administrative oversight.

Some years later, following another disagreement with the Council, Ander found himself questioning his chosen path in the Universe. He chose to depart, intending to find a new way of life for himself, leaving the Praxeum in the care of Jedi Masters Tebana Sor and Dav Man'Sell, and their mutual ally, Aalia Ra. With the departure of Ander Tagira, the academy went through a phase of restructuring, as the Jedi Masters of the Praxeum's council reformed the Administrative structure. This later lead to a union with the Osarian Jedi Order, and the newly constructed Jedi Sanctuary there. During this time, the Defence Forces were reorganise into the Jedi Peacekeeping Taskforce, a fleet focused on civil defence, mediation, and humanitarian aid missions. Although much smaller than the Defence Force that had preceded it, this Taskforce still held a sizeable fleet and land army.
